Decision Making and Judgment
These concepts are vital to the survival of a program and even participants, depending on the circumstances. Being able to make the right decisions and exercise good judgment are incredibly important to me; I never take on a task I don't think I will be able to execute to the fullest standards when there is someone else who could. Whether or not I will be able to properly execute a task is based on my decision making and judgment, and my ability to make the best decisions and judgments is based on my experiences. These two concepts are some of the biggest factors in why I have thrown myself so fully into outdoor recreation and education after officially joining the major, but the fact that it is fun helps, too. I have been participating in every opportunity that I can to gain as much experience as possible so that I may exercise the best decision making skills and make the safest judgments as I also immerse myself into recreation as a profession.
